My Story
Hi, I am Amy. I grew up in Philadelphia, went to Penn State for undergraduate studies, and moved to southern California in 1995 to attend graduate school. I now reside in the suburbs of Portland, Oregon.
I have been a licensed therapist since 2000 and working in the field of clinical social work for over 25 years.
Over the course of my career, I have worked in outpatient clinics, schools and hospital systems doing therapy, case management and therapy supervision. I currently provide therapy through my private practice here, TalkItOutOregon.com, as well as through the telehealth company, PlushCare.com.
In addition to online therapy, I also do on-site crisis counseling for businesses, CSWA clinical supervision, clinical consultation and speaking engagements about online therapy.
Although I work with people of all different backgrounds and situations, I specialize in working with women and mothers. And I use a pretty amazing approach called EMDR to do what I do.
When not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, camping and playing tennis.
